Church of the Most Holy Saviour, Old City, Bratislava
The Jesuit Church of the Most Holy Saviour, administered by members of the Society of Jesus, stands on Franciscan Square. In front of it is a Baroque column of Our Lady of Victory, erected in 1675 as the first of its kind in Hungary. Leopold I of Habsburg commissioned it to commemorate the victory over the Turks at St. Gotthard in 1664 and the suppression of an estates' uprising in 1671.
