Hviezdoslav Square, Old City, Bratislava
Hviezdoslav Square in Bratislava is named after Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav and is one of the city's best-known squares. Today it is a leafy pedestrian area with a stage for cultural events in the center. Near the Slovak National Theatre is a long fountain with a larger-than-life statue of the poet. The square is also home to the Slovak National Theatre, the Radisson SAS Carlton hotel complex, the embassies of the United States and Germany, and numerous bars and restaurants on its northern side.
