County House, Historic Centre, Trenčín

This building was constructed in the 17th century and originally served as the town palace of the Ilešházi family. In 1760 it was remodelled in the late Baroque style and became the county hall. County assemblies were held here in the past. Since 1939 it has housed the Trenčín Museum, whose permanent natural history and local history exhibition opened in 1999. Thanks to its excellent acoustics, the building is also used as a concert hall.

Pamiatky v historickom centre mesta Trenčín sú súčasťou mestskej pamiatkovej rezervácie. Nachádza sa v podhradí Trenčianskeho hradu a tvoria ju pamiatky ako Župný dom (dnešné Trenčianske múzeum), Morový stĺp, piaristický kostol sv. Františka Xaverského s kláštorom, rímsky nápis na hradnej skale a ďalšie.
