St. Cyril and Methodius, Upper City, Nitra
The Thessalonian Brothers sculpture, installed in 1990, depicts Saints Constantine-Cyril and Methodius, scholars and missionaries who came to Great Moravia in 863 at Prince Rastislav's invitation and also worked in Nitra. They created the first Slavic alphabet, Glagolitic, laying the foundations of Slavic literacy and education. Sculptor Ľudmila Cvengrošová created this larger-than-life bronze work.
Horné mesto je najstaršou časťou Nitry. Okrem Nitrianskeho hradu sa tu nachádzajú meštianske domy, kostol a kláštor františkánov, morový stĺp, súsošie Solúnski bratia, Veľkoprepoštský palác, Malý a Veľký seminár, socha Corgoňa a ďalšie zaujímavosti.
